There is nothing specific about RDP vs SSH. It's all TCP in the end. I would validate : - Check the security groups to make sure the ports are correct. - tcpdump at the compute, vm, network level to see the traffic. - try RDP locally in the subnet to see if it's enabled on the destination box.
