ack that was partly how i felt intially too when i orginally provided that
feedback. the overlaping ones were just a little busy and my eyey were draw
to the noise it added.

with the non overlapping version i find my self looking at the mascot as a
whole rather then lookign at the colours primarlay 

both are pleaseing to see but i think its clear my prefernce lies with option 2 :)
