How to stop the whole system gracefully ?

1. Do I need to back up the current Mariadb before performing mariadB_recovery? Otherwise what backup is this command based on to restore the database?
2. After the stop command is run, the container stops, but is the configuration information deleted? Does re-running deploy-containers simply pull up the container? Will the configuration information also be overwritten?

i belive what you are lookign for is "kolla-ansibel stop"
then after the issue is resolved you can do kolla-ansible mariadb_recovery then kolla-ansible deploy-containers

https://docs.openstack.org/kolla-ansible/latest/user/operating-kolla.html#kolla-ansible-cli
