[kingbird] Should we retire x/kingbird?

Hi all,

x/kingbird project has been inactive for some time now, f.e. there is a bug
[1] which has been open for more than a year and which would solve sanity
issues in Tempest. The project is on an exclude list due to that [2].

Also there haven't been any real changes for the past 3 years [3].

I'm bringing this up to start a discussion about the future of the project.
Should it be retired? Is it used? Are there any plans with it?
