The nova-powervm driver had the same issue before Ocata and it was dealt with in the out-of-tree driver code to register their migrate data object: https://github.com/openstack/nova-powervm/tree/newton-eol/nova_powervm/objects I don't see anything like that in the nova-lxd code.
