Fixture sounds interesting, as it will map Datasets to SqlAlchemy calls. Unfortunately I haven't proven usage within Openstack.<br>

That's why I'm opening the discussion to the whole community : I don't know if there is any kind of "best practices" but at least some mistakes to prevent :-)<br>

So far as I can see, the current way for unittest the DB APIs in Openstack is either mocking the DB or using a tmp/ram sqlite engine.<br>

I went through Fixture SQLAlchemy DataSets [1], I would give a try on it. Anyone shouting no ?<br>

Maybe other Openstack folks could shed some light on the right way/best practices in Openstack for unittesting ORM calls ?<br>
