Note: this is the eighteenth edition of a weekly update of what happens in
TripleO.

Owls May Have Coexisted With Dinosaurs!
"We do know that owl-like birds like Berruornis and Ogygoptynx lived 60
million years ago, during the Paleocene epoch, which means it's entirely
possible that the ultimate ancestors of owls coexisted with dinosaurs
toward the end of the Cretaceous period.
Technically speaking, owls are one of the most ancient groups of
terrestrial birds, rivaled only by the gamebirds (i.e., chickens, turkeys
and pheasants) of the order Galliformes."
