Greetings OpenStack community, A pleasant but short meeting this week. During the open discussion we all agreed that the increased activity on the mailing list using the [api] tag -- with explicit invitations to engage in discussions -- was great to see happening and great to participate in. At least as great is the open discussion about how to do negation [7] which has led to a proposed guideline [8]. The pagination and capabilities guidelines (below) mentioned last week as being important and difficult continue to be actively discussed but have not yet reached consensus. # New guidelines No newly merged guidelines this week. # API guidelines that have been recently merged * Clarify why CRUD is not a great descriptor https://review.openstack.org/#/c/392156/ * Add guidelines for complex queries https://review.openstack.org/#/c/386614/ * Specify time intervals based filtering queries https://review.openstack.org/#/c/383862/ # API guidelines proposed for freeze No guidelines are frozen at the moment. # Guidelines currently under review [6] Both of these are going to require quite a bit of input from a wide audience. Both have been tried a few times in the past. * Define pagination guidelines https://review.openstack.org/#/c/390973/ * WIP Add API capabilities discovery guideline https://review.openstack.org/#/c/386555/ This one is new: * Add the operator for "not in" to the filter guideline https://review.openstack.org/#/c/399131/ # API Impact reviews currently open Reviews marked as APIImpact [1] are meant to help inform the working group about changes which would benefit from wider inspection by group members and liaisons. While the working group will attempt to address these reviews whenever possible, it is highly recommended that interested parties attend the API WG meetings [2] to promote communication surrounding their reviews.
