It sounds to me like both of you are looking for something specific.

If so, why don't you ask what it is you are looking for? It would be
easier on the candidates if you were to ask what it is you want to know
rather than them having to guess. Folks with strong opinions have
already outlined them on the mailing list and/or blog posts (as well as
comments on the patches before the governance repo) and are continuing
to do so. Those that haven't may, I suspect, be willing to play the
crucial role of glue to find ways to get the various opinions to
actually work.

Anyone can ask direct questions of candidates.
