Hi Stackers,

Murano Application Catalog is a project which is aimed to help OpenStack
users to publish and run applications on top of OpenStack infrastructure.
Murano Juno release supports two main application formats: HOT template
apps and Murano packages. Today, I would like to announce an initial
support of Docker images based application in Murano. It is possible to use
Murano Application Catalog to publish Docker based applications and end
users will be able to deploy these application on top of Docker Service VM
provisioned by Murano. As usual, Murano uses Heat for doing the actual
work. Initially, Murano generates a Heat template with networks, Nova
server and Software config for Docker service VM. Once Docker Service is up
and running Murano will update Heat stack with Docker resources provided by
Docker plugin. Murano Docker Service VM workflows will help to create port
bindings automatically so it is possible to host multiple Docker containers
inside a Docker service VM.

We plan to continue to significantly improve Docker containers integration
in upcoming releases by adding support for Docker VM clusters, Nova Docker
plugin support to place Docker containers on bare metal servers controlled
by Nova adding integrating with monitoring tools and other 3rd party apps
supported by Murano.
