[openstack-dev] question regarding vmdk file format for baremetal provisioning

The vmdk i have is from a VM that has not been partitioned, does it mean,
it will not work?
Meaning, i cannot use an off the shelf kernel, ramdisk and use the
qcow2-converted-image-from-vmdk?
